University-city Integration Facilitates the High-quality Development of Film and Television Culture Industry
Recently, the University-city Integration Forum of Lingshan Bay Film and Television Culture Industry Area was held at Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research, where the participants had a thorough exchange and discussion on the issues related to the role of university-city integration and design on boosting the high-quality development of film and television culture industry. Liu Chunjie, deputy director of Economic Development Department of Lingshan Bay Film and Television Culture Industry Area Command, Zhao Fang, deputy director of Film and Television Industry Development Center, and several people in charge of the film and television cultural industry in the Area attended the forum. Liu Weidong, assistant to the president, participated in the above activities.
Before the forum, the guests visited the International Industrial Design Laboratory, the Advanced Manufacturing and Design Prototype Workshop, and the Art and Science Experience Center, as well as the "Sowing and Sprouting, Ripening and Harvesting—Special Exhibition of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and the "Integrating Arts & Science Creating Future With Quality" international exhibition to better understand the operation mechanism and development concept of the Qingdao Academy. Liu Weidong, assistant to the president introduced to the participants the historical heritage of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and its excellent achievements in helping to upgrade and develop the local film and television cultural industry.

To seek the possibility of deep integration in many fields such as art design, innovative research and development, and film and television talent training, we should pay attention to exploring new ways of cooperation between the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research and film and television industry.
Huang Baorong, chairman of Hainan Mantianxing Culture Media Co., Ltd., was deeply impressed by the profound cultural heritage and advanced 3D printing equipment of the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research. He said that with a strong technical force, the advanced manufacturing workshop of the Qingdao Academy could sample and produce the designed shooting props for film and television media companies, which provides an excellent opportunity for in-depth cooperation.
Chen Liang, director of the Film and Television Creation Center of Qingdao Film Academy, expressed that actively participating in the integration of the university-city is an opportunity for the development of the film and television industry in the new area. He expected to cooperate deeply with Qingdao Academy in academic research in the future to form a good situation of mutual promotion and advancement, creating a base for the integration of the film and television industry and education in Lingshan Bay.
According to Wu Sichang, director of the Cangmashan Film and Television Service Center, strengthening the integration of art and technology can solve the pain points and difficulties in film and television creation. Through cooperation in the construction of the scene engine base, combined with 3D modeling and other technologies, we can create a new engine for the high-quality development of the film and television cultural industry.
Wang Peng, manager of Qingdao Dizhao Film and Television Culture Media Co., Ltd., said that talents are the key to the development of the film and television industry, and high-quality talents are the lasting and endogenous force for the high-quality development of the film and television industry. He hoped to communicate more with young artists and relevant professionals of the Qingdao Academy.
Wang Xiaohua, producer of Mi Xiaoquan's School Life, said that the most important thing of film and television creativity is to refine and apply brand-new ideas in concept, aesthetics and art to the film and television culture industry. During the meeting, some leaders of the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research put forward opinions and suggestions on further promoting the development of the film and television culture industry. According to Wang Qidi, director of the Development Planning Office, the design concept and scene display in the film can be realized in an interdisciplinary manner. At the same time, the film can nurture society, driving the demand and development of the industry.
Wang Linlin, director of the Exchange and Cooperation Department of the Talent Attraction Office, proposed to explore the establishment of a creative design empowerment center to create a film and television cultural IP based on Qingdao's urban elements and empower the industry through creative design.
Chen Xin, director of the Environmental art Design of the Development Planning Office, expressed that he hoped to combine the power of design and film to lead the future and give full play to the advantages of design, empowering the film industry.
Wang Fengchao, design director of the Development Planning Office, said that the Qingdao Academy currently uses the most advanced and popular 3D printing technology, with fast printing speed, high molding accuracy, and a wide application range, which can solve the design and production problems of film and television props.
Finally, Liu Chunjie, deputy director of the Economic Development Department of Lingshan Bay Film and Television Culture Industry Area, concluded that West Coast New Area, aiming at building a "city of film and television" in an all-round way, is expanding the industrial chain by building a solid industrial foundation, improving service guarantee, and optimizing industrial ecology. Colleges and enterprises both have their advantages and strengths, and only when they are integrated can industrial development have more momentum and opportunities.
Going forward, to promote win-win cooperation and the high-quality development of the film and television cultural industry of the West Coast New Area, and jointly help Qingdao build the first UNESCO "City of Film" in China and the ninth in the world, Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research will continue to carry out solid, steady and innovative cooperation with the film and television field by further deepening the collaboration between schools and enterprises.
